Can't install any form of working shockwave

Erm...wel that's not exactly shockwave...it's in the download section...and you click on missing dll files...yep yep...not shockwave...

Go to start>control panel>add and remove programs... then remove any and all the shockwave components in your computer.

Open your internet Explore or whatever, clear your cache first, restart you computer and then follow the steps below.

Then re-install: shockwave 10.1http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/
After installing shockwave 10.1, install: shockwave 8.5 Shockwave 8.5 installation

well people thanks for your help thusfar...i got the DL version to work..

however...what sugjestions do you have on making the web version work? the DL will work ok for now so i'll be able to play sfo at least in some form...but i would like to have shockwave working in my web browser anyway, so i can view stuff on other websites that require shockwave. after installing from adobe it still wont display on the web page, either at adobes or sfo's site.

any idea as to why it would work on the dl version and not the web version? you think there's something wrong with my internet exploroer?

also..how to i set my active x controls to be lower..it says that my active x controls might prevent things on the page from being display correctly.

U have any virus protection? I do, and i can't play it unless i shut it down completly

yeah i do have some virus software, but it never interfeered with sfo before.

thats why i see why i try and load the web page. my guess, is that there is some shockwave component that i dont have installed on my IE browser, because the sfo download version actually work for me.

when i first got shockwave 10 awhile back, i got it off a different website than adobe, i been tryin to find some other shockwave alternatives but no luck yet.

its a little box with shapes inside, like it cant load the image or something. its not an x and it's not a cup...

Well, it's not a java issue...so yeah...did you download shockwave 8.5?? from the download section??

well i tried 8.5 but it aint work for me.

after looking on the web a lot and looking at adobes site, it appears this shockwave thing is a huge and very common problem. after experimenting with some settings and some new installation methods, i got an error message saying "instalation file is corrupt"

im tryin to have a friend send me shockwave from her comp cause it workin for her, so we'll see how that goes.

Okay, I just read your last Post, well you should STILL go to my thread, because it tells you how to solve srdir.dll problems!

In the "Streetfighteronline" folder on the your hard drive for the download version, there should be a file in there called "Control.dll" put that file in the "Prefs" folder and try the game should work after that.

Already told him that and he got the sockwave to work only for d/l version. Your best option it to let someone send you the files ....which you are doing so yea

- Go to start "Run"
- Type in "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MacroMed"
- Remove both Shockwave Folders
- Go here and the latest Shockwave will be installed for you
- Then redownload shockwave 8.5 and install.
- In the "Streetfighteronline" folder on the your hard drive for the download version, there should be a file in there called "Control.dll" put that file in the "Prefs" folder and try the game it should work after that.
